DON HO - AUTOGRAPHED INSCRIBED PHOTOGRAPH - HFSID 181129
Price: $100.00
DON HO. Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Steve/Aloha/Don
Ho". Color, 8x10. Don Ho (1930-2007) became the musical ambassador for
Hawaii beginning in the early 1960s, when he released his debut album,
Don Ho Show, and began appearing at the Coconut Grove in Los Angeles
and other venues, including the Sands in Las Vegas, Harrah's at Lake Tahoe, the
Palmer House in Chicago and the Americana Hotel's Royal Box in New York. In the
fall of 1966, he had his greatest hit, "Tiny Bubbles", which placed in
the pop and easy listening charts and sent his Tiny Bubbles LP to the Top
20, where it stayed for nearly a year. The song became the theme song of the
popular performer, who appeared on television as a guest star and a host as well
as performing live in Hawaii and around the nation. By the 1990s, he had
launched his own record label to record his own recordings and those of other
Hawaiians. Ho entertained tourists and locals alike as a featured performer at
the Waikiki Beachcomber Hotel, performing his last show to a standing ovation on
Thursday, April 12, 2007, two days before his death. Slightly creased at blank
margins and corners. Minor striations (not evident head on). Fine
condition.
