tip, B/w 7x7¾, affixed to a 7½x8 card (2 surfaces). Hockey right wing Don
Murdoch was born in Cranbrook, British Columbia on October 25, 1956. He
played in the NHL for 8 seasons with the New York Rangers
(1976-1980), Edmonton Oilers (1979-1981), and the Detroit Red Wings
(1981-1982). Before his NHL career, he had an impressive rookie scoring with the
junior ice hockey team the Medicine Hat Tigers, scoring 56 points in 59
games. The hockey player admitted to having a drug and drinking problem
after his first season with the New York Rangers, never quite regaining his past
winning form. After retiring from hockey, Murdoch worked as a scout for the
Tampa Bay Lightning. Pencil note (unknown hand) on verso. Fine
