10. Holmquest has signed in ink below his facsimile signature. This group of
astronauts (Joseph P. Allen, Philip K. Chapman, Robert A. Parker, William E.
Thornton, John A. Llewellyn, Brian T. O'Leary, Kearl G. Henize, Anthony W.
England, Franklin S. Musgrave and William B. Lenoir, as well as Holmquest) was
selected for their scientific education rather than for pilot backgrounds.
Dr. Holmquest worked on Skylab habitability systems and medical experiments, but
never went into space. After leaving NASA in 1973, he became a medical
practitioner and researcher, instrumental in establishing the new College of
Medicine at Texas A&M. Lightly worn at corners. Fine
condition.
