Headed: "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract for Single Television Broadcast and for Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week". Agreement between Donald O'Connor, c/o Mr. Jesse Stool, Beverly Hills, California and Phillip Productions, Inc., c/o Katz, Moselle & Shier, New York, New York for the actor to appear as "Host and performer" on Coliseum, a program to be taped in New York City. Taping was to take place on March 7, 1967 and the program was scheduled to air on March 16, 1967. O'Connor was to receive "$7500.00 plus $1000.00 expense allowance plus one (1) first-class round-trip air fare to Los Angeles-New York-Los Angeles". The actor has initialed: "DO'C" on page headed "Additional Provisions". Also signed and initialed by the President of Phillip Productions, Inc. In the year he signed this contract, O'Connor guest hosted The Hollywood Palace and appeared on The Dean Martin Show. The following year, he would host The Donald O'Connor Show. Entertainer Donald O'Connor (1925-2003) began his career as a child, dancing in his family's vaudeville act. Perhaps best remembered as the army private who can't convince anyone that a mule can talk in a series of six Francis the Talking Mule films, he also kept dancing in, among others, Yes Sir, That's My Baby (1949) and, with Bing Crosby, in Anything Goes (1956). For portraying Cosmo Brown in Singin' in the Rain, O'Connor won the 1953 Golden Globe for Best Actor-Musical or Comedy. He won the 1954 Emmy Award for Best Male Star of a Regular Series for his appearances on The Colgate Comedy Hour. Lightly creased. Staple and staple holes at upper left corner.
