Autograph Letter signed: "Donald", 5x7 open flat, card with
printed wreath design. No place, December 1983. To "Dear Wegie and
Frank [McGlinn]", in full: "This smiling McGlinns convinces
me it will be a wonderful '84! May many blessings be yours - and the opportunity
to see you both soon. Love" American dancer, choreographer and theater
director Donald Saddler (1920-2014) was an original member of the
American Ballet Theatre, performing Giselle, The
Firebird and other works. After returning from World War II, he moved to
Broadway, where his dance performances included High Button Shoes
(1947). His first role as a choreographer won him a Tony in 1953 for
Wonderful Town, and he would win another for No, No Nanette
(1971). His film choreography included Wonderful Town (1953).
Philadelphian Frank McGlinn was a major patron of the theatre arts. Edges
lightly toned. Fine condition.
