Signature in black felt tip on a 4x5 photograph of the actress in a sequined dress
Photograph signed: "Dorothy/Lamour", in black felt tip, B/w 4x5. Printed signature on lower right. Best remembered today as the film partner of Bob Hope and Bing Crosby in their "Road" pictures,Dorothy Lamour (1914-1996) was a star on her own in the 1930s, a popular radio singer with a screen image established by The Jungle Princess (1930). While "Lamour" sounds like a name made up by the Hollywood studios, it was actually a variation on her stepfather's name (Lambour). Lamour made frequent USO appearances and raised large sums for war bonds during World War II. She was featured in several Bob Hope television specials in addition to appearing in films up through 1987 (Creep Show 2). Corners slightly worn and creased. Slight surface creases. Fine condition.
