Trading/sports card signed: "Doug Jones/PTL", in blue felt tip, 2½x3½. Former MLB relief pitcher Doug Jones (1957-2021) had a sixteen year-long career playing for the Milwaukee Brewers (1982, 1996-1998), the Cleveland Indians (1986-1991, 1998), the Houston Astros (1992-1993), the Philadelphia Phillies (1994), the Baltimore Orioles (1995), the Chicago Cubs (1996), and the Oakland Athletics (1999-2000). Jones experienced his best season in 1988 with the Indians, where he became the team's full-time closer, and breaking the team record for saves in a season with 37, and held the team's all-time record with 129 saves until broken by Bob Wickman in 2006. Known as a change-up specialist, he was known for throwing slow pitches to keep hitters off-balance. Jones was asked to play for the American League All-Star team in 1988, 1989 and 1990, as well as the National League's team in 1992 and 1994. He was the oldest player in the major leagues in 2000 at the age of 43. Fine condition.
