Douglas Fairbanks (1883-1939) went from stage roles to silent film stardom. In 1920s silents, he was theswashbuckling hero, portraying Robin Hood, Zorro and musketeer d"Artagnan). He was married to "America's sweetheart" Mary Pickford from 1920 to 1936, known together as "King and Queen of the Silents." With Pickford and. D. W. Griffith and Charlie Chaplin, he formed United Artists in 1919. His son, by a previous marriage, Douglas Fairbanks, Jr., achieved stardom in his own right. Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Ink note (unknown hand) on verso. Corners lightly creased. Fine condition.
