In 1955, virologist ALBERT B. SABIN (1906-1993) developed the oral polio vaccine made from live viruses. His OPV was given to 100 million children in Europe and 100 million people in the U.S. in 1960, following five years of tests. Author MARGUERITE HENRY (1902-1997) is best known for her stories about horses. Her works include Misty of Chincoteague and the Newbery Medal-winning King of the Wind, both of which were made into feature films. Magazine cover and mounting sheet both torn at left edge from removal from binding. Ink notes (unknown hand) at lower corner on both sides of mounting sheet. Overall, fine condition.
