Signature: "Drew Pearson", 4½x3½ card. At lower margin, Pearson has written: "June 25
1941/ Wash. D.C." Columnist Andrew Russell "Drew" Pearson (1897-1969) is best known
for his "Washington Merry-Go-Round" column, which he began in 1932 while with the
Scripps-Howard Syndicate. Pearson, who joined "The Washington Post" in 1941, was one
of the few journalists to speak out against Joe McCarthy in the early 1950s, playing an
important role in McCarthy's downfall. Shaded edges. Slightly stained at lower left blank
edge. Otherwise, fine condition.
