member of the production staff of Anthony Productions, CBS or The Merv Griffin Show
Partly Printed Document signed: "Dustin Hoffman", in black ink, 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1971
June 11. Headed: "The Merv Griffin Show/Artist's Certification". Hoffman certifies that he

Hoffman had appeared on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. In 1971,
Hoffman appeared in two feature films, Straw Dogs and Who is Harry Kellerman and
Why is He Saying Those Terrible Things About Me? The emergence of Dustin Hoffman
(b.1937) heralded the arrival of a new era of Hollywood stardom. Diminutive, wiry and
unassuming, he was anything but the usual matinee idol, yet he quickly distinguished himself
among the most popular and celebrated screen performers of his generation. He has won
two Academy Awards for Best Actor (Kramer vs. Kramer, 1980, and Rain Man, 1989) in
addition to earning five Oscar nominations (The Graduate, 1968; Midnight Cowboy,
1970; Lenny, 1975; Tootsie, 1983; and, Wag the Dog, 1998). Recently, Hoffman was seen
as Ben Stiller's (Greg Focker's) father in Meet the Fockers (2004), the sequel to the highly
successful Meet the Parents (2000). Lightly creased with folds, not at signature. Staple holes
at upper left blank corner, which has two ¾-inch tears (minor paper loss), 2 file holes at upper
blank margin (¼-inch tears above each, minor paper loss). 3 pinhead-sized stains, 2 to left of
signature. Otherwise, fine condition.
