EMILE JOHN "DUTCH" LEONARD (1909-1983), a right-handed knuckleballer, played for four teams over his 20-season major league career: the Brooklyn Dodgers (1933-1936), the Washington Senators (1938-1946), the Philadelphia Phillies (1947-1948) and the Chicago Cubs (1949-1953). An All-Star in 1940, 1943, 1944, 1945 and 1951, Leonard compiled at 191-181 record. VICENTE AMOR, born Vincente Amor Alvarez in Havana, Cuba in 1932, pitched for the Chicago Cubs (1955) and the Cincinnati Redlegs (1957), playing a total of only 13 games. WILLIAM WALKER COOPER (1915-1991), a catcher for six National League teams, was one of the sport's strongest players in his prime. At the end of his career, Cooper ranked among the top five NL catchers in career batting average (.285), slugging average (.464), home runs (173) and RBIs (812), and he also batted .300 in three World Series with the St. Louis Cardinals, his team from 1940-1945 and 1956-1957. Cooper also played for the New York Giants (1946-1949), Cincinatti Reds (1949-1950), Boston (1950-1952) and Milwaukee (1953) Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates (1954) and Chicago Cubs (1954-1955) before returning to St. Louis. He was an All-Star in 1942, 1943, 1944, 1946, 1947, 1948, 1949 and 1950. Cooper's brother, Mort, a pitcher, was his teammate for the first few years of his career. Heavily soiled, touching signatures, which are completely legible. Light white scratch at the "Wa" of Cooper's signature. Overall, fair condition.
