DWAYNE HICKMAN
Youthful photograph of the actor dressed in plaid, signed to a fan with "Best Always"
Inscribed photograph signed: "To Richard/Best always/Dwayne Hickman", in blue ink, B/w
4x5. Printed signature on lower right. American actor Dwayne Hickman (1934-2022) made
his first film appearance in an Our Gang comedy in 1942. He proved a hit with young female
viewers as Bob Cummings' nephew on the TV sitcom Love That Bob, so he was cast in the
title role of The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis (1959-1963). Almost thirty when that show
ended but typecast as a teen-ager, Hickman found few appealing later roles in front of the
camera. Fortunately, he adapted by becoming a successful CBS programming executive. He
still appears on screen occasionally, as in two Dobie Gillis reunion specials and five episodes of
Clueless (1996-1999). Corners slightly worn. Signature slightly smeared, but clearly legible.
Slightly soiled (not seen head on). Fine condition.
