EARL HOLLIMAN
He pens a letter to a columnist, thanking him for writing approvingly of his performances.
Autograph Letter signed: "Earl Holliman", 1p, 7¼x10. No place, 1954 September 18. To "Dear Jimmy". In full: "It was such a pleasant surprise to read the nice things you said about me in your column, last Tuesday. Just wanted you to know how very much I appreciated it. Although I have, as yet, no publicist, I realize the extreme importance of publicity - especially for a newcomer like myself. You're the one columnist who's been consistently nice to me, and I'm deeply grateful. Best regards," Perhaps best known for his role as Lieutenant Bill Crowley in the weekly series Police Woman (1974-1978), Earl Holliman (1928-2024) turned in impressive work on many live TV anthologies during the 1950s. His performance as a shipwrecked Marine in a 1958 Kraft Theatre production led to his being cast in Twilight Zone's pilot episode, "Where is Everybody?" (1959). Holliman has also starred in a number of films, including The Rainmaker (1956), which earned him a Golden Globe, and Sons of Katie Elder (1965), which also starred John Wayne. Normal mailing folds. Lower edges slightly frayed. Fine condition.
