Rainmaker, which co-starred Holliman in his Golden Globe Best Supporting
Actor winning-role as Jim Curry. ©1956, Paramount Pictures Corporation. The
film, which was nominated for two Academy Awards, including a Best
Actress nomination for Katharine Hepburn and a nomination for Best Drama or
Comedy Score, also starred Burt Lancaster and co-starred Wendell Corey, Lloyd
Bridges and Cameron Prud'homme. In the year he made this film, Holliman was
also seen on the big screen in Forbidden Planet, Giant,
Westward Ho, the Wagons! and The Burning Hills. Best known for his
role as Lieutenant Bill Crowley on the weekly series, Police Woman
(1974-1978), screen and television actor Earl Holliman turned in impressive work
on many live TV anthologies during the 1950s. His performance as a shipwrecked
Marine in a 1958 Kraft Theatre production led to his being cast in
Twilight Zone's pilot episode, "Where is Everybody?" (1959). Holliman
has also starred in a number of made-for-TV movies as well as feature
films, including The Bridges at Toko-Ri (1955), Gunfight at the
O.K. Corral (1957), The Sons of Katie Elder (1965) and Sharky's
Machine (1981). Lightly creased, diagonal creast at the "C" of Claude and
the "l" of Earl. Slightly soiled at blank margins. Tack hole at upper right
blank corner, nick at upper left blank edge. Fine condition.
