Color, 40x29¾. Earth, Wind & Fire is an American band that uses various musical genres such as R&B, soul, funk, jazz, disco, rock, pop, Latin, African and gospel. They are considered as one of the most successful and critically acclaimed bands of the 20th century. The band was founded in Chicago by Maurice White in 1969; other members have included: Philip Bailey, Verdine White, Ralph Johnson, Larry Dunn, Andrew Woolfolk and Al McKay. They have received 20 Grammy nominations and won four American Music Awards. The band was inducted not only into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame but also to the Vocal Group Hall of Fame. They received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and sold over 100 million records, making them one of the world's best-selling bands ever. There were originally nine members in the group including his bass-playing brother, VERDINE WHITE and vocalist PHILIP BAILEY. Percussionist RALPH JOHNSON later joined the group.Folds.
