ED ASNER
Letter from the actor saying that he just finished working on the film Daniel, which he calls a "nice, non-political movie about the Rosenberg trial".
Typed letter signed: "Ed", in blue felt tip, 8½x11. December 20, 1982. Hollywood, California. In part: "Dear John, Sorry to be so long in answering your nice letter. You know I've been in New York working on that nice, non-political movie about the Rosenberg trial. Now I'm back in town and working on other things. I'm glad Steve Allen was a mensch and gave you the try-out, etc. I'm between projects now, can relax a bit over the holidays. I finished "Daniel" and will be doing a play locally in May". Ed Asner (1929-2021) is perhaps best known as the TV news editor on The Mary Tyler Moore Show (1970-1977). When Moore ceased production in 1977, Asner took his Lou Grant character into an hour-long dramatic weekly about a Los Angeles newspaper. The show titled Lou Grant ran from 1977 to1982. Asner has literally hundreds of television credits (1961-2010) and voice credits for animation and video games that include The Simpsons, X-Men Legends, Max Steel, and Superman: The Animated Series. His more recent TV credits include: CIS: NY (2009), 6 episodes of Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip (2006-2007), 27 episodes of Thunder Alley (1994-1995), 5 episodes of Batman (1992-1994), and 16 episodes of Captain Planet and the Planeteers (1990-1992). Light surface creases. Normal mailing folds. Fine condition.
