1. On personal letterhead to actress/comedienne Phyllis Diller. In full:
"Thank you very much for your wedding gift. The Pierre Cardin Clock is
beautiful. Our wedding was a surprise to everyone. In fact, Toni our nanny, and
Katherine Mary our daughter, learned of our intentions on the way to the chapel.
We asked Toni to be the maid of honor and Katherine Mary to be the ring
girl/'best man'. It was a lovely, very warm small family wedding. We are very
happy. We send our love to you. Love". Ed McMahon (1923-2009), who
previously worked with Johnny Carson on the TV quiz show Who Do You
Trust? (1958-1962), then served as Carson's announcer on The Tonight
Show (1962-1992), with his famous introductory line, "Heerre's ...
Johnny". McMahon hosted other TV quiz and variety programs, including the
talent contest Star Search (1983-1995). He is perhaps equally
famous for being a spokesman for the Publishers' Clearinghouse contest. Fold
