Photograph inscribed and signed: "To Saul/Best wishes/Eddie Albert". B/w, 8x10. Collector's ink stamp on verso dates signature: September 9, 1938. Perhaps best known for his role as city slicker turned farmer Oliver Douglas on TV's Green Acres (1965-1971), Eddie Albert (1906-2005) made his movie debut in Brother Rat in 1938; his costars included Ronald Reagan and Jane Wyman. Nominated for Best Supporting Actor Academy Awards in 1953 (Roman Holiday) and 1972 (The Heartbreak Kid), Albert's feature films include You're in the Navy Now (1951), Oklahoma! (1955), The Teahouse of the August Moon (1956), The Sun Also Rises (1957), The Longest Day (1962), The Longest Yard (1974), Escape to Witch Mountain (1975), Airport '79 and Yes, Georgio (1982). Saul Goodman (1919-2003), a New York business man by day, pursued his love of film and theatre in the evening, making friends with many celebrities. While other autograph seekers offered album leaves, Goodman presented stars with snazzy photographs, a rarity then, to sign in fountain pen. Scattered surface marks and dings. Fine condition.
