Carbon Partly Printed Document Signed: "Eddie Albert" in ink as Performer, 16p, 8½x11, separate sheets. New York, New York, 1967 January 25. Headed: "Standard AFTRA Engagement Contract for Single Television Broadcast and for Multiple Television Broadcasts Within One Calendar Week". Albert contracts with Phillip Productions, Inc., New York, New York to appear as "Host and performer" in the program, Coliseum. The place of performance is listed as "Greater New York City area", with taping to be held on March 22, 1967. Albert was to be paid $7,500 for his appearance on the program, which aired on April 13, 1967. Also signed by the President of Phillip Productions, Inc., who has also initialed on sheet headed "Additional Provisions". Signed during Albert's run on the TV sitcom, Green Acres. In November and December 1967, Albert was also a guest star on The Carol Burnett Show and The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour respectively. Best known for his role as city slicker turned farmer Oliver Douglas on TV's Green Acres (1965-1971) with Eva Gabor as his wife, EDDIE ALBERT (1906-2005) had made his movie debut in Brother Rat in 1938; his costars included Ronald Reagan and Jane Wyman. Nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1953 (Roman Holiday) and 1972 (The Heartbreak Kid), Albert's film career included Airport '79, Escape to Witch Mountain, The Longest Yard, Captain Newman, M.D., The Longest Day, The Sun Also Rises, The Teahouse of the August Moon, Oklahoma!, You're in the Navy Now and Hit Parade of 1947. Lightly creased. All sheets stapled together at upper left blank corners. First and second pages are lightly shaded at upper and right blank margins. First page and inside pages lightly soiled. Pencil notes (unknown hand) at upper right margin of first page. Overall, fine condition.
