Carbon Typed Document Signed: "Eddie Albert" in pencil, 1p, 8½x11. No place, 1958 January 23. In letter form to Seven Arts Productions, Inc., Beverly Hills, California, Begins: "Gentlemen". In full: "You are hereby notified that I have authorized The Jaffe Agency, Inc. to accept delivery of any and all checks and/or sums of money which may from time to time be or become payable to me from you; and I hereby authorize you to mail all such checks and/or sums of money to said The Jaffe Agency, Inc., 9441 Wilshire Boulevard, Beverly Hills, California. This authorization shall remain in effect until written notice of the revocation thereof, executed and acknowledged by me, shall be served upon you by registered mail. I hereby agree to indemnify and save you free and harmless of and from any and all loss, cost or expense which may be incurred or suffered by you by reason of any action taken by you in reliance upon this authorization." In the year he signed this document, Albert would appear in three films: Orders to Kill; The Roots of Heaven; and, The Gun Runners. Best known for his role as city slicker turned farmer Oliver Douglas on TV's Green Acres (1965-1971) with Eva Gabor as his wife, EDDIE ALBERT (1906-2005) had made his movie debut in Brother Rat in 1938; his costars included Ronald Reagan and Jane Wyman. Nominated for Best Supporting Actor in 1953 (Roman Holiday) and 1972 (The Heartbreak Kid), Albert's film career included Airport '79, Escape to Witch Mountain, The Longest Yard, Captain Newman, M.D., The Longest Day, The Sun Also Rises, The Teahouse of the August Moon, Oklahoma!, You're in the Navy Now and Hit Parade of 1947. Lightly creased with folds, not at signature. Some type light (all legible). Slightly soiled at blank areas. ¼-inch tear at mid-left blank edge, staple holes at upper left blank corner, 2 file holes at upper blank margin. Overall, fine condition.
