Signatures of the actors on a green album leaf. Inscribed to a
fan.
Inscribed signature: "To Stanly/Eddie Albert", and on verso,
"To Stanley/Paul Douglass" in brown ink, 5½x4¼. Perhaps best known for
his role as city slicker turned farmer Oliver Douglas on TV's Green Acres
(1965-1971), Eddie Albert (1906-2005) made his movie debut in
Brother Rat in 1938; his costars included Ronald Reagan and Jane Wyman.
Nominated for Best Supporting Actor Academy Awards in 1953 (Roman
Holiday) and 1972 (The Heartbreak Kid), Albert's feature films
include You're in the Navy Now (1951), Oklahoma! (1955), The
Teahouse of the August Moon (1956), The Sun Also Rises (1957), The
Longest Day (1962), The Longest Yard (1974), Escape to Witch
Mountain (1975), Airport '79 and Yes, Georgio (1982). Paul Douglas
(1907-1959) was a sports announcer in the 1930s and a radio and stage actor
in the 1940s, including a co-starring role in the Broadway version of
Born Yesterday. His first film, Letter To Three Wives (1949), was
followed by several more, including the popular baseball movies It Happens
Every Spring (1949) and Angels in the Outfield (1951). Left edge
frayed from binding. Toned around edges. Otherwise, fine
condition.
