EDDIE BOND
Album leaf signed "Thanks" by rockabilly musician Eddie Bond in pencil
Signature "Thanks/Eddie/Bond". Pencil notations in bottom right corner in unknown hand. 3¾x5 with rounded bottom corners. According to the pencil notations on this leaf, it was signed on May 27, 1956. Bond, born in 1933, started his five-decade music career playing bars around Memphis, which may be why his deepest mark is in rockabilly. He founded Eddie Bond and the Stompers in 1952, which released rockabilly hits like Slip, Slip, Slippin' In and Flip, Flop Mama. A contemporary of Elvis Presley, neither he nor the Stompers broke out like the King. However, his contributions to the genre were recognized when he was inducted into the Rockabilly Hall of Fame in Burns, Tennessee. Bond has also released country and even gospel songs and has performed on radio, including Louisiana Hayride and his own show. Lightly toned and creased. Neatly cut from album at top edge. Otherwise in fine condition.
