The actor signs a 6x4½ green album leaf, accompanied by an unsigned
4½x3½ candid photo taken at the same time the autograph was signed.
Autograph Note signed: "To Jane/From Rochester", 6x4½ green
album leaf. Accompanied by an unsigned black and white candid photograph
taken fan at the time when this autograph was taken outside a movie studio gate.
Originally hired to play a one-time guest spot as a porter on an episode of
Jack Benny's radio show ("Train Ride to Hollywood", March 28, 1937), comic
actor Eddie Anderson (1905-1977) struck such a chord with audiences that
his association with Benny lasted 20 years. Best known for his role as
"Rochester", Benny's butler, Anderson also starred with Benny in the classic
films Man About Town (1939), Buck Benny Rides Again (1940) and
Love Thy Neighbor (1940). Anderson also appeared in Three Men on a
Horse (1936). Toned at edges. Pin-head size holes along left edge.
