Signature: "Eddy/Arnold", 5x3 index card. Credited with taking
hillbilly music to the city, Eddy Arnold, born Richard Edward Arnold in 1918
died 2008, was one of the most popular country artists of all time, virtually
dominating the charts in the 1940s and 1950s. Initially influenced by such
cowboy singers as Gene Autry, Arnold charted 28 number one hits and sold over
85 million records. His top recordings include "I'll Hold You in My Heart
(Till I Can Hold You in My Arms)" (21 weeks at number one), "Bouquet of Roses
(19 weeks at the top of the charts), "What's He Doing in My World?" and "Make
the World Go Away". Arnold, whose early manager was Colonel Tom Parker, was
inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1966. Slightly creased.
