Signature: "Edgar Laprade/ H.O.F. 93" in black ink. 5x3 index
card. Edgar Laprade (1919-2014) was a Canadian centre in the NHL,
playing for the New York Rangers from 1945 to 1955. Laprade started playing
hockey with the Port Arthur Bruins in the Thunder Bay Junior A Hockey League,
passing through several other teams before taking a break from the minors to
join the Army. However, taking a break from the minors didn't mean a break from
hockey, as he continued to play hockey with the Winnipeg Army. Laprade
joined the NHL upon his return from Army service and impressed in his first
season, scoring 34 points in 49 games and being selected for the first NHL
All-Star game. He was subsequently selected for the 1948, 1949, and 1950
All-Star games. In his career, Laprade received the Calder Memorial
Trophy and the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy, and in 1993, was inducted into the
Hockey Hall of Fame. Slightly toned. Fine condition.
