Dress, unsigned. Brown knit dress with straight sheath design, interrupted only by darts at the bust. High neckline and long sleeves, finished at the cuff with three self-covered ball buttons and loops. The unlined dress opeans at the back with a zipper. This dress was part of the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams estate. Singer and comedian EDIE ADAMS (1927-2008), born Elizabeth Edith Enke in Kingston, Pennsylvania, appeared on TV's popular Ernie Kovacs Show in the early 1950s, and married Kovacs in 1954 (the couple was married until his death in 1962). Known to television audiences for her commercials for Muriel Cigars, she also appeared in several feature films, including The Apartment (1960) and The Best Man (1964). Adams, who received a Tony Award as Daisy Mae in Li'l Abner (1955), portrayed Mae West in a TV biography of her late husband, Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter (1984). Iranian-born fashion designer Ray Aghayan worked at the Shah's court in Iran before coming to Hollywood as a costume designer for TV specials and feature films. Since the mid-sixties he has worked closely with fellow designer Bob Mackie. They have been nominated for 3 Oscars and 9 Emmys, winning two Emmys. Very good condition.
