Collection of four award plaques honoring her. These trophies were in the estate of the late Ernie Kovacs and the recently deceased Edie Adams.
Collection, all unsigned, from the Ernie Kovacs/Edie Adams estate: 1)Emmy Award nomination, 9x11, received by her for Here's Edie (1962-1963), bestowed by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences. Scratched and soiled. 2) Theatre World Promising Personalities of the Season award (1952-1953), 12½x10. Lightly soiled. Otherwise, fine condition. 3) Gentlemen's Quarterly Magazine Special Salute (1965), 10x12½. Chipped and scratched. Brass is worn and tarnished. 4) Royal Variety Performance Certificate from the London Palladium (1962), 10½x14. Black frame worn at edges and corners. Singer and comedian Edie Adams, born Elizabeth Edith Enke (1927-2008), who appeared on TV's popular Ernie Kovacs Show in the early 1950s, was married to Kovacs from 1954 until his death in 1962. Known to television audiences for her commercials for Muriel Cigars, she also appeared in several feature films, including The Apartment (1960) and The Best Man (1964). Adams, who received a Tony Award as Daisy Mae in Li'l Abner (1955), portrayed Mae West in a TV biography of her late husband, Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter (1984). Four items.
