The actress and comedian signs a letter to Barbara Norton, then head of the Public Relations department at the Sheraton-Park Hotel.
Typed letter signed: "Edie Adams", in blue ink, 1 page, 5x8. Edith Adams Kovacs. June 17, 1963. In full: "Dear Barbara: Thank you for sending Ida Jean Kain's interview and please thank her for saying such kind things about me. Sincerely". Singer and comedian Edie Adams, born Elizabeth Edith Enke (1927-2008), who appeared on TV's popular Ernie Kovacs Show in the early 1950s, married Kovacs in 1954 (the couple was married until his death in 1962). Known to television audiences for her commercials for Muriel Cigars, she also appeared in several feature films, including The Apartment (1960) and The Best Man (1964). Adams, who received a Tony Award as Daisy Mae in Li'l Abner (1955), portrayed Mae West in a TV biography of her late husband, Ernie Kovacs: Between the Laughter (1984). Normal mailing fold.
