EDITH ATWATER
The actress signs a contract agreeing to play the role of Mrs. Pendleton in Basic Training for the daily rate of $300
Contract signed: "Edith Atwater", in blue ink, 8½x6. October 1, 1973. Titled: Employment of Day Player. The contract is an agreement from Richard Alan Roth Productions, Inc. to employ Atwater as "Mrs. Pendleton" for Basic Training at the rate of $300 a day. Edith Atwater (1911-1986) was a stage actress, appearing in 18 plays in her 20 plus year career. Her first play was Springtime for Henry (1931), though the role was rather minor. However, she would have her time to shine in much bigger roles, starring in two plays: State of the Union (1945) and Flahooley (1951). Beyond the theatre, she appeared on both the big and small screen, having a number of recurring roles on television in Peyton Place (1964), Love on a Rooftop (1966), and Kaz (1978). Staple holes in top left corner. Light surface creases. Multiple folds. Otherwise, fine condition.
