TLS: "Edna Ferber", 1p, 5¼x6¾. New York, 1936 February 6. On her "791 Park Avenue"
letterhead to Mrs. Golden-Howes, New York. In full: "I am leaving for Florida on Saturday,
and I have been so busy with those annoying last minute duties that I have not been able to
answer your letter until now. I am so sorry not to have been able to see you before going. My best
wishes to you and Mr. Golden-Howes. Yours very sincerely". In the year she signed this letter,
two of Ferber's novels were released as feature films: Come and Get It and Show Boat,
which she had written in 1926. American author Edna Ferber (1885-1968), who received the
1925 Pulitzer Prize in Fiction for So Big, also wrote Cimarron (1929) and Giant (1952) and
co-authored Dinner at Eight with George S. Kaufman (1932). Lightly creased, slightly soiled.
