Typescript Signed: "Edward Albee/1992", 1p, 8½x11. Headed: "An Excerpt From/* TINY ALICE*/By/* EDWARD ALBEE *". Set the Cardinal's garden, this excerpt includes dialogue between the Cardinal and a lawyer. Tiny Alice, which Albee described as a "mystery play", ran on Broadway from December 29, 1964-May 22, 1965 and its revival was seen on the Great White Way from September 29-October 25, 1969. In 1969, Albee was also a co-producer of a revival of The Front Page. Three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright (A Delicate Balance, 1966; Seascape, 1975; Three Tall Women, 1994) Edward F. Albee III (b. 1928) is best known for his 1962 masterpiece, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf? The work, his first Broadway play, won him a Tony Award and was made into an award-winning film in 1966. He also won the 2002 Tony Award for Best Play for The Goat or Who Is Sylvia? Albee is noteworthy in the theater not only for his works, but also for his efforts to introduce new talent and techniques. The playwright taught for many years at the School of Theatre at the University of Houston, also gave writing seminars and lectures on his work at colleges around the country. Lightly creased.
