The tough character actor fills out in his hand his date of birth ("Dec 12, 1893"), Early Life ("went to Columbia College & College of City of New York"), Start of Professional Career ("Played on New York Stage from 1915 to 1929 - ten plays with Theatre Guild-8 plays with Arthur Hopkins & about 20 others"), Talkies ("'East is West' - 'Little Caesar' 'Smart Money' 'Five Star Final' 'The Hatchet Man' - 'Two Seconds' - 'Tiger Shark'"), Hobbies ("Books-Music-Pipes-Sports") and Incidents worth repeating ("My personal appearance in London at the Carlton at Re Opening of 'Five Star Final'- one of my great memories"). Edward G. Robinson (1893-1973) had his first film success in Little Caesar (1931), leading to a series of gangster roles. Later film successes included Double Indemnity (1944), Key Largo (1948), The Cincinnati Kid (1948) and Soylent Green (1973). He learned shortly before his death that he would be awarded an Oscar in 1973 for his outstanding contribution to motion pictures. Fragile. Creased with folds. Stains in blank areas.
