Printed Card signed in ink: "Edward German", 3½x4¼. Printed text: "Autographed in aid of the Fund of the Royal Alexandra Infirmary Bazaar by". English conductor and composer Edward German (1862-1936) was considered the successor to Arthur Sullivan (d. 1900) as composer of comic operas. His works in this genre included Merrie England (1902) and Tom Jones (1907). He also wrote symphonies and other orchestral pieces, the best known of which is the "Welsh Rhapsody" (1904). German was knighted in 1928. The Royal Alexandra Infirmary is located in Paisley, Scotland. Fine condition.
