Typed Letter signed: "E Phillips Oppenheim", 1 page, 8x6¾. Leicestershire Club, Leister (England), 1907 April 25. On club letterhead to Lt. Col. Lockhart Kennedy, Brighton (England). In full: "I thank you very much for your letter of the 19th inst., and am much interested in the coincidence which you point out. If you would send me a paper containing a copy of your letter, I should very much like to read it. Sincerely yours". English author Edward Phillips Oppenheim (1866-1946), "the prince of storytellers", was an extremely popular author of mystery and spy novels, as well as short fiction. His works include The Great Impersonation, Lions and Lambs, The Double Traitor and short story collections such as Shudders and Thrills. Most of Oppenheim's books portray fashionable characters in opulent settings, but he could write gritty underworld stories as well. Many of his books were made into films, starting in 1915. Lightly creased and soiled. Mounting adhesive shows through lightly at left and right edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
