On official Bermudian Government Leader letterhead. To "Dear Mr. Croxford". In full: "Thank you for your letter conveying your best wishes to me on my being elected Government Leader./ I am pleased to hear from someone living in Croydon because I resided at 48 Whitgift Avenue (at the corner of Whitgift Avenue and Haling Park Road) for about three years during the Second World War. The house was called 'Glenrosa'./ I have not seen "The times" article about me to which you referred. I am sorry I missed it./ Best wishes./ Yours faithfully". Sir Edward Trenton Richards (1908-1991) was a lawyer and Bermudian politician. From 1971 to 1973 he headed the United Bermuda Party. Irregularly cut. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
