Bok sends season's greetings - and a gentle reminder to read his book - in this letter

December 29, 1925 (spelled out), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Addressed to Jay L. Bradley. In full: "Dear Jay: It was very kind of you to send me the season's greetings, which I heartily appreciate. I hope that you may be one of the readers of 'Thrice Thirty'. With appreciation of your thought in writing, believe me, Very cordially yours,". Thrice Thirty(1925) was the ninth of Bok's 13 books. Bok (1863-1930) moved as a child from the Netherlands to the U.S. From 1889 to 1919, he served as editor of "The Ladies' Home Journal", which had been founded by his father-in-law, Cyrus H.K. Curtis in 1883. Bok made the publication the leading American magazine for women and used the magazine to campaign for pure food and drug laws and public beautification. He also published important fiction and articles by several Presidents. In 1923 he donated $100,000 for a prize for the best plan for achieving universal peace. He won the Pulitzer Prize for his autobiography, The Americanization of Edward Bok (1921). Lightly toned. Letter has been folded once horizontally and unfolded. Otherwise in fine condition.
