E.J. HOLUB - AUTOGRAPH SENTIMENT SIGNED - HFSID 341209
Sale Price $126.00
E.J. HOLUBThe footballer sends his Seasons Greetings on a 5x3 card Autograph sentiment signed: "Merry Christmas/&/Happy New Year/EJ", in black ink, 5x3 card. If toughness alone could get you a spot in the College Football Hall of Fame, E.J. Holub (1938-2019) would have been voted in after his first knee surgery as a Texas Tech Red Raider. There he was an unstoppable All-American center, and the first ever Texas Tech player to have his jersey retired. Entering the AFL in 1961, Holub spent the next 10 seasons playing for the Dallas Texans (1961-1962) and the Kansas City Chiefs (1963-1970). Due to his aggressive playing style, Holub underwent 9 knee surgeries in his career. His injuries never seemed to affect him, at least not mentally, and it wasn't until his 9th season of play that he lost his starting position on the Chiefs. Considered the Chiefs' honorary cowboy, Holub was inducted into Kansas City's Hall of Fame in 1976. He was a 5-time All-Star, 2-time All-Pro, and a 2-time AFL Champion. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1986. Fine condition.
