He signs a photo of himself and two other St Louis Browns pitchers warming up
for a game.
Photograph signed: "Elden Auker". B/w, 10x8. Pictured in 1940 with
fellow St. Louis Browns pitchers Slick Coffman and Bob Harris flipping baseballs
pre-game, Auker (1910-2006) pitched for the Tigers (1933-1938), Red Sox
(1939) and Browns (1940-1942) compiling a 130-101 won-loss record. His 18-7
record for the 1935 World Champion Tigers led the league in winning percentage.
He developed his sidearm, almost underhand delivery after a shoulder injury
while playing football for Kansas State University. Creased upper left corner.
Notes on verso (unknown hand) and photographer's stamp (no
show-through).
