Signature: "Eleanor Clark", in blue ink, 5x3. American author Eleanor Clark (1913-1996) published a long list of works in her writing career, but became best known for her travel writings, beginning with her 1952 book titled Rome and the Villa. Her second husband Robert Penn Warren won the 1958 National Book Award for Poetry, with Clark following in his footsteps several years later, in a different category: She would win the 1964 National Book Award for Arts and Letters with her book The Oysters of Locmariaquer. In addition to her travel writings, she also authored several novels and children's books. Corners slightly worn. Pencil notes (unknown hand) on verso. Slightly toned. Fine condition.
