Autograph sentiment signed: "Best Wishes/ Eleanor Whitney" in pencil. 5x3 index card. Eleanore Whitney(1917-1983), born Eleanor Wittenberg in Cleveland, got her start in vaudeville at age 10 and took lessons from Bill "Bojangles" Robinson. Billed as the world's fastest tap dancer (60 taps in 4 seconds), she appeared on stage with Jack Benny and Rudy Vallee. Whitney had a short career (1935-1938) in movies, often pairing with Johnny Downs in Paramount college musicals. Whitney has exactly one Broadway credit, in the 1946 revival of The Would-Be Gentleman. Toned and soiled. Small stains throughout. Light surface creases. Corners rounded. Otherwise, fine condition.
