Small 4½x6 photograph shown dancing in a flaring skirt, signing with
a sentiment in Italian
Photograph inscribed and signed: "A Rolando/con simpatico/Elettra
Morini". B/w, 4½x6, affixed at an 7x9 paper. Trained in classical ballet
and starring on the stageTeatro alla Scala in the 1960s, Italian Elettra
Morini (b. 1937) also excelled in other genres, including Spanish dance. She
retired from the stage in 1981, but remains an international celebrity,
photographed with popes and presidents. Her autobiography, considered a
valuable guide to aspiring female dancers, is titled simply Dancer.
