Ct." and by her solicitor. 1 page, 8½x11. Jan. 21, 1905. Order form from the American Publishing Company, Hartford, Connecticut for one limited edition copy of The Complete Works of Charles Dudley Warner. Armsmear was built in 1856 in Hartford, Connecticut by Samuel Colt as a home for him and Elizabeth Colt, whom he married in 1856. The house is now a National Historic Landmark; however, Hartford replaced its garden, ponds and greenhouse with ball fields and a skating rink. ELIZABETH COLT (1826-1905) married firearms pioneer Samuel Colt in 1856. A philanthropist, she created a number of memorials for her husband, who died in 1862, In 1905, she donated almost 1,000 pieces of art, documents and objects to the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford, Connecticut and a fund to build the Colt Memorial wing, the first American museum wing to be named after a woman. Folds and creases, not near signature. Lightly soiled. Otherwise in fine condition.
