ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY and MILTON EBBINS She signs a $41 check written to her well-connected agent, Milton Ebbins, who has endorsed it. Check signed: "Elizabeth Montgomery", 6x2¾. Beverly Hills, California, 1975 July 25. Check #44, drawn on her account at City National Bank, payable to Milt Ebbins for $41.02. Endorsed twice on verso: "Milt Ebbins/Milton Ebbins". ELIZABETH MONTGOMERY (1933-1995) is best known for her role as Samantha Stephens on the hit TV sitcom, Bewitched (1964-1972). Although she was nominated for an Emmy Award five times for the series (and four additional times for other work), Montgomery never won an Emmy. Ironically, William Asher, her husband from 1963-1973, won the 1966 Emmy for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Comedy for Bewitched. Montgomery, who made her TV debut in 1953 on Armstrong Circle Theatre, went on to appear in a number of early TV anthologies as well as making guest appearances on TV series ranging from Westerns to dramas. She also starred in a long list of made-for-TV movies as well as a handful of feature films, including The Court-Martial of Billy Mitchell (1955, her debut), Who's Been Sleeping in My Bed? (1963) and How To Stuff a Wild Bikini (1965). MILTON EBBINS (1912-2008) was a well connected Hollywood agent whose clients included Count Basie and Peter Lawford as well as Elizabeth Montgomery. A friend to members of the "Rat Pack" and a frequent guest at Kennedy's White House, Ebbins escorted Marilyn Monroe to a White House dinner the night she first met JFK.
