ELLEN CORBY. Photograph Mount inscribed and signed: "To Ken Anthony Lillig/Have a lovely life/Ellen Corby". Color, 5x7 overall, image 3x3¾ (two surfaces). Depicted in her role as "Grandma" Ester Walton (1972-1977, 1978-1979, 1980) with actor Will Geer, who played "Grandpa" Zebulon Walton (1927-1978), on the TV series, The Waltons, which aired from 1972-1981. Ellen Corby (1911-1999), born Ellen Hansen, was nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for her role as Trina, the maid, in I Remember Mama (1948), and she won a Best Supporting Actress Emmy Award in 1973 for her role as Esther "Grandma" Walton on The Waltons. Corby appeared several feature films, including It's a Wonderful Life, Caged, Shane, Sabrina, Vertigo and Hush...Hush Sweet Charlotte, and she also guest starred on a number of TV series, including a hilarious turn as Myrt "Hubcaps" Lesh on The Andy Griffith Show. Mounting sheet is slight soiled. Name written (unknown hand) in ink on verso (no show through). Fine condition.
