ELLEN GEER
The actress writes about one of her recently completed film projects
Autograph Manuscript signed: "'Ellen Geer" in black ink, 1p, 8½x11. Dated January 1, 1985. Written on official letterhead of the Theatricum Botanicum. In part: "FALL - 1984 - we completed filming of 'HARD TRAVELIN' an adapted screenplay  from the novel 'THE BREAD AND THE STONE' written by Alvah Bessie/ Dan Bessie, his son, adapted, directed and produced with Helen Garvey this truly American theme about love and justice. Its story is autobiographical in content about the Bessie family. It was therefore a rare opportunity to work on material important to the film maker, as well as the author, and also the family." Ellen Geer (b. 1941), the daughter of actor Will Geer, made her screen debut as a nun in Petulia (1968). She had starring roles in Creator (1985) and Hard Traveling (1985). Geer was also a regular cast member of two different TV series, The Jimmy Stewart Show (1971-1972) and Beauty and the Beast (1990). Lightly toned. Partial transfer of printed ink of letterhead due to adhesion to plastic sleeve. Otherwise, fine condition.
