Inscribed Picture Post Card signed: "Austrian phrase, translated as
"Mabelzouten Coerte/For kind memory/Ellen Richter" in black ink, B/w
5½x3½. Austrian film actress Ellen Richter (1893-1963) was born in Vienna,
Austria. Beginning her career in the silent film era, she appeared in
over 50 films between 1915 and 1933. Some notable films include Der
Eremit (1915), Das Skelett (1916), The Monastery of Sendomir (1919),
The Toy of Tsarina (1919), Das Ratsel der Sphinx (1921), Die
tolle Herzogin (1926), Heads Up, Charley (1927) and Die Dame mit
dem Tigerfell (1927). Richter formed her own production company, Ellen
Richter Film, in 1920 and the company made 32 films between 1920 and 1932.
Her husband, German director Willi Wolff, wrote and directed several of
Richter's films. Slightly worn at edges. Otherwise, fine condition.
