ELMER GREINERT “BUD” SHUSTER The Pennsylvania congressman signs this 3½x2 card in black felt tip Signature: “Bud Shuster, M.C./ 9-Pa.”, in black felt tip, 3½x2. Elmer Greinert “Bud” Shuster (b.1932) was a congressman from Pennsylvania who served from 1973 to 2001. He received his M.B.A. from Duquesne University and then went on to attend American University, from which he earned his Ph.D. in 1967. Shuster then served in the U.S. Army from 1954 to 1956. He was a delegate to the Republican National Conventions in 1976, 1980, 1984, and 1988. Shuster was elected to the 93rd Congress as well as the fourteen Congresses that followed. During his time in the U.S. House, he was chairman of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure (104th and 106th Congresses). Shuster was also well-known for his support of various transportation projects, including one which landed him in hot water: Boston's Big Dig. He was investigated by the Congressional Accountability Project and one of his former aides, Ann Eppard, was indicted in 1998 for taking bribes. Lightly toned. Otherwise, fine condition.
