Rice sends a typed letter to a fan regarding one of his plays
Typed Letter Signed: "Elmer Rice", 1p, 6x9½. New York, 1929
February 8. On stationery of the Hotel Walton to Mrs. Brady, concerning her
writing to him about The Subway, his play written in 1924. "I still
feel that, produced under the right auspices and with the right cast, the play
would have had an excellent chance. But it is too late to do anything about
that...although I am very much disappointed, I feel that Street Scene is more
than a compensation." Street Scene (1929) won the Pulitzer Prize for
Drama in 1929. Lightly creased, else fine condition.
