Autograph sentiment signed: "Yours truly/Emily Faithfull", in brown ink, 4¼x2¼ attached to 5x3 card (2 surfaces). Emily Faithfull was an English women's rights activist of the 1860s. A member of the Society for Promoting the Employment of Women, she fought to give women jobs in the male dominated compositor business. She published The Victoria Magazine--a women's rights press--for eighteen years, beginning in 1863. Popularity of her magazine led Faithfull to be appointed printer and publisher in ordinary to Queen Victoria. Pencil notes (unknown hand). Toned. Paper loss at top and lower margin on left edge. Creased and worn. Otherwise, fine condition.
